Creative inspiration – The New Pope

I loved the first series “The Young Pope” and this is an awesome follow-up. Not only that, it has a cracking soundtrack.  Get it in your eyeballs.

John Malkovich and Jude Law star in Paolo Sorrentino’s stunning vision for the world of the modern papacy. Pius XIII (Law) is in a coma. Succeeding him is the charming and moderate English aristocrat Sir John Brannox (Malkovich) with the name John Paul III. Quickly, the new pope realises it won’t be easy to replace Pius XIII who has become a Saint with thousands of faithful followers now idolising him.(Previous season, ‘The Young Pope’, also available to stream.)

Creative inspiration – Five rad things

Hand-Carved Wood Sculptures by Jui-Lin Yen

I’m loving these so hard! I want to get the tools out and turn my drawings into real life, living, breathing things. This might be what’s next.

Caravan Envy

More than a little bit of caravan envy going on here. Not sure how it would look in the yard but I feel like it would be a little cooler this summer than the one I painted black.

Look at this

Look at this beautiful thing. More buildings that look like they’re going to take off. Good to see a return to brutalism.

Cicada 3301

I hope this is a real thing. I love it. I love the idea that there is someone out there that made a puzzle this complex and has been able to keep it a secret. It feels to me like something a sentient AI might do post-singularity

Words well said

Darby Hudson rocks my socks. From the first time I saw his work on a Richmond wall to that time that my friend Sam showed me his words and I put the two together. Have a read, he’s pretty special.

Great Idea for the Amsterdam festival of light.

Sick Ride Bro

People are awesome. Someone thought of something cool and made it and made it super rad. Nice work Brent Walter. Walter repurposed an original Volkswagen Beetle to form the dramatically curved body of his “Volkspod” and built an engine and chassis to fit below.
